IPv6 Tunnel

Obtaining an IPv6 Internet connection gives us the necessary resources for thorough testing and analysis of our IPv6 testbed. By having access to other IPv6 servers on the Internet we are able to simulate real-world situations that could not be created by implementing our testbed alone.

Currently, our testbed gateway is connected to 6Bone (IPv6 Internet backbone) through Hurricane Electric's free tunneling service. By having our gateway forward any IPv6 packets destined outside the testbed, any testbed host has access to IPv6 Internet.

The following diagram illustrates how our testbed connects to the IPv6 Internet through Hurricane Electric's IPv6 to IPv4 tunneling service.
