The Fundamentals of Speech Recognition course consists of
two parts: the theory track, which is organized as a series of 45
one-hour lectures; and an implementation track that consists of
exercises based on the ISIP public domain recognizer. The goal
of this course is to develop a working knowledge of large
vocabulary conversational speech recognition. Students will
learn the theory behind state-of-the-art systems, and have a chance
to experiment with such systems on leading edge tasks such as
the conversational speech database known as Switchboard.
