Rosenfeld’s Algorithm

• 4-simple:

  • changing it from black to white does not disrupt the connectivity of the remaining black pixels.

• 4 isolate:

  • none of its 4 neighbors is black.

• 4 endpoint:

  • exactly one of its 4 neighbors is black.
