This special topics course grew out of some casual discussions ISIP students had about the need for an advanced course in speech recognition that covered fundamental theories used to build speech recognition systems. The lectures contains here are intended to cover a selected number of topics we feel are highly relevant to the speech recognition problem. These lectures focus on the underlying mathematics, and present an in-depth look at the theory behind these algorithms. A small portion of each talk is devoted to actual speech recognition applications. Each lecture shown to the left includes an on-line presentation and an extended paper.
