The critical competencies needed to achieve
successful project outcomes. These include organization and planning,
making decisions and taking action, communications and teamwork,
project management methodology, risk management, and requirements
management, among others.
John Benedict is currently Network Vice President - Alabama/Mississippi
Operations, with responsibility for the provision and maintenance of
customer service in those states. This responsibility includes the
planning, engineering, construction, installation, maintenance, central
office operations and dispatch administration activities.
John has over 27 years service with BellSouth, in a variety of
marketing, sales, planning, network operations, systems development and
engineering assignments. Prior to the present assignment, John had
responsibility for the development and management of a new business
unit in BellSouth Enterprises to explore information services business
opportunities, and later established the BellSouth Corporate Project
Management office.
John is a native of Miami, Florida, and received a BSEE from the
University of Miami and an MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
He and his wife, JoAnna, live in Birmingham, and have two sons and two
grand-daughters.
