This poem was written by Julie Ngan when she was in eleventh
grade at St. Clare's Girls' School in Hong Kong in 1991.
It was inspired by a book whose name has been forgotten.
Send me no flowers
For their fragrance soon die
Make me no promises
For we know not what future may lie
Show me your kindness, your tenderness
Listen to my wishes on a shooting star
Take me to the wilderness
And places unknown and afar
Send me no flowers
For their fragrance soon die
Make me no promises
And tell me no lies
